Throughout mind and body I seek balance, and through my senses I feel and create.

My art captures moments of intuition and improvisation, drawn from my emotions and thoughts. These works are surreal-realistic mixed-media paintings, primarily using acrylic and pastel, influenced by personal experiences and societal observations. The result is a collection of explosive, vibrant pieces.

Influenced by various states of mind in recent years, I've portrayed personal conflicts, realizations, hurdles, and blessings within my art. This artistic journey mirrors my path toward mental balance, visualized through dynamic shapes and characters that breathe and live within each artwork. Personal growth forms the essence of my paintings; each canvas tells a self-contained story. These narratives progressively connect, forming harmonious compositions that bind the chaos of my mind.

 

Strengthened with a film degree, I've woven the aspects of storytelling, symbolism, and non-verbal communication into my artwork. Characters and shapes, whether concealed or revealed, are central to my artistic identity and style, visually adapting to their symbolic meanings.

 

I draw inspiration from diverse cultures during my travels and from various destinations. A significant chapter of living in South Africa has profoundly shaped my artistic direction, influencing my brushwork and shapes. These influences, along with my deep appreciation for nature, animals, colors, patterns, and music, converge to create my unique collection and style of expression. My artworks serve as a therapeutic journal, confronting inner demons, doubts, wishes, and beliefs, while exploring themes of growth, identity, and the perpetual search for purpose.

 

This collection evolves over time, mirroring the journey of growing into young adulthood. Each painting delves deeper into the chaos of my thoughts, capturing observations through all senses. From the overwhelming frenzy of day and nightlife to tranquil moments of reflection, my pieces encapsulate societal observations that prompt contemplation of personal roles, and a longing for spiritual balance.

 

Ultimately, my art aspires to transform – releasing worries and uncertainties, embracing critique and change, and fostering awareness not only of my surroundings but also the individuals within my circle. It embodies the endeavor to become one's desired self, translating thoughts into actions while maintaining gratitude for all life experiences.
